Job Description
BJAK is building automation systems that help customers move through insurance journeys faster — especially during claims, where customers expect fast updates, transparency and reliable support.
We are hiring a Backend Engineer to help improve claims visibility, automate follow-ups and reduce manual coordination across customers, insurers and internal teams. This role is remote and works closely with our Malaysia-based engineering and operations teams.
The Mission
Build backend systems that automate claims workflows and improve customer claims visibility.
What You’ll Own
Build backend services for claims workflow and follow-up automation.Connect insurer updates, customer claims data and operational workflows.Automate reminders, workflow status updates and escalation tracking.Improve operational visibility, logs and exception handling.Troubleshoot claims workflow issues and resolve root causes.Work with product, operations, claims support, QA, frontend and DevOps teams.Build systems that improve trust during customer claims experiences.
What We’re Looking For
Backend engineering experience in production systems.Good understanding of APIs, workflow systems and databases.Comfortable working through operational complexity and unclear processes.Strong debugging and structured problem-solving skills.Careful with status accuracy and customer-facing information.Comfortable collaborating remotely with operations teams.Practical, accountable and low ego.
