AI Product Engineer (100% Remote)
Company Overview
We are located in the Nashville, TN area, and we are revolutionizing the healthcare industry. We have just under 1,000 employees and have become one of the most AI-enabled companies in our industry. We have a reputation for innovation, establishing market trends with the technology we have created.
Position Overview
We are seeking an AI Product Engineer to own the delivery of customer-facing AI capabilities end-to-end. This remote role blends product thinking with handson engineering: you will define product requirements, prototype and build robust Python-based solutions on Azure AI Foundry, and partner with cross-functional teams to ship, monitor, and iterate on AI features that drive measurable user impact.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate customer needs and business goals into clear product requirements, success metrics, and roadmaps for AI features.
• Design, prototype, and implement production-grade AI components and integrations using Python and Azure AI Foundry.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, backend/frontend engineers, and design to ensure coherent end-to-end user experiences.
• Lead model lifecycle activities including data preparation, model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring to ensure reliability and performance.
• Build scalable data pipelines and integrations (SQL/Databricks or other data platforms) to support model training and inference.
• Instrument metrics, run experiments (A/B tests), and analyze results to iterate on product and model improvements.
• Ensure production systems follow best practices for security, observability, and compliance.
• Write clear documentation, runbooks, and handoffs; support stakeholders and help prioritize technical debt.
• Mentor and support other engineers; contribute to hiring, onboarding, and knowledge sharing sessions.
Qualifications
• Proven experience building and shipping AI/ML-backed product features in a software engineering role.
• Expert proficiency in Python and experience with ML engineering workflows (data prep, model training, evaluation, deployment).
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI Foundry (or equivalent Azure AI services) for building and operationalizing AI solutions.
• Strong product sense with the ability to frame problems, define success metrics, and balance technical trade-offs against user value.
• Experience working with data systems and querying languages (SQL) and familiarity with Databricks or similar data platforms.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable partnering with cross-functional teams and stakeholders remotely.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment and owning end-to-end deliverables.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Nice-to-have: prior experience as an AI Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), or Palantir-related roles, familiarity with Palantir Foundry and Agent Bricks.
