Overview
Bark n Burn runs weekly in-person rescue puppy yoga with 25 spots per session at $39.99/spot. Our first class sold 22/25 spots with minimal marketing. We're growing fast โ currently 1 class per week over summer, scaling to 10 classes per weekend in the fall.
We need someone to take over marketing completely and run it independently. The owner will be based remotely for the summer, so this role requires someone who can work autonomously with minimal check-ins.
We provide the raw video footage and photos. Your job is to turn them into polished ad creatives, write the copy, and fill those spots every week.
What You'll Own
Creative production โ edit provided raw video and photos into scroll-stopping ad creatives and social posts
Ad copywriting โ write headlines, captions, and CTAs that drive bookings
Meta Ads โ set up, manage, and optimize campaigns week to week. We have a new account (previous account was banned through no fault of our own) so you'll need to ramp it up carefully given new account spending limits
Social media โ post content across Instagram and Facebook, engage with followers, stay active in local Facebook groups and Nextdoor
Local community presence โ post in neighborhood groups, engage in dog owner communities, build awareness in the San Diego market
Weekly reporting โ a short update each week on bookings, ad spend, what's working, and what you're testing
Trial Period & Growth Path
Summer (trial period):
1 class per week, 25 spots to fill
$300/month ad budget
Lower intensity โ build your systems, learn our audience, prove yourself
Pay: $650/month
This summer is a paid trial. We want to find the right long-term person, not just someone to fill a gap.
Fall onward (if the trial goes well):
Scale to 10 classes per weekend โ 250 spots to fill weekly
$1,500/month ad budget
This becomes a near full-time role with significant responsibility
Pay increases substantially to reflect the scope โ open to discussion based on performance
If you do great work over summer, you'll have a real, growing role to step into in the fall. We're building something here and want the right person growing with us.
You're a Great Fit If You...
Have run Meta Ads for local service businesses โ dog, fitness, events, or similar
Know the difference between boosting a post and running a real campaign
Can edit short-form video into compelling ad creatives
Are comfortable working independently without being micromanaged
Are proactive โ if something isn't working, you tell us before we ask
Can show real results: bookings driven, cost per acquisition, ROAS
Nice to Have
Experience with pet businesses, fitness classes, or event-based bookings
Familiarity with local community marketing (Nextdoor, Facebook groups)
Experience ramping up a brand new Meta Ads account
What We're Not Looking For
Agencies or large teams โ we want one dedicated person
Someone who just schedules posts โ we need active optimization and community engagement
Anyone who can't show past performance metrics
