Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer | Remote (Eastern Time) | New York HQ We are partnered with a Series A startup headquartered in New York, recently backed to scale their platform and engineering team. They are building a high-impact product with serious traction and are now making key senior engineering hires to support their next stage of growth. This is a genuine opportunity to join early, shape the technical direction and grow with the business as it scales. The Role: • Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer, fully remote (Eastern Time) • Small, autonomous engineering team with real ownership and accountability • Core backend work on a scaling platform with real complexity and interesting problems • Greenfield development alongside modernisation of existing systems • Close collaboration with CTO, product leadership and fellow engineers • Opportunity to influence architecture decisions and engineering culture early What They Are Looking For: • 5+ years Ruby on Rails in a product-led or startup environment • Strong API design, REST and GraphQL • PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq • Experience with AWS or GCP • Experience integrating or deploying AI/ML capabilities into production systems • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering practices • Someone who takes ownership end to end, not just their ticket queue • Scale-up experience preferred, you know what it means to build and ship without a safety net Why This Role Stands Out: • Early stage with real backing, not a pre-revenue bet • Remote first with a collaborative, high-trust culture • Equity on offer at a stage where it still means something • Engineering leadership that came up as engineers, not managers MUST BE CURRENTLY BASED IN THE UNITED STATES & NO SPONSORSHIP REQUIRED.
