Job Description Job Title: Backend Engineer – Globalization & MCP Enablement Role Overview: We are looking for a Backend Engineer to help scale our retail store platform (within the ChatGPT app) from North America to Europe and LATAM. This role will focus on enabling global capabilities, integrating MCP infrastructure, and strengthening backend systems to support multi-region operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead backend development for international expansion (Europe, LATAM) • Design and implement MCP server integrations and enablement • Adapt platform for localization (currency, tax, compliance, language) • Optimize backend systems for scalability, performance, and reliability • Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams on global rollout Requirements: Strong backend engineering experience (distributed systems preferred) • Hands-on experience with MCP enablement and MCP server architecture • Solid understanding of APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure • Experience supporting multi-region/global platforms • Familiarity with retail/e-commerce systems is a plus Nice to Have: Experience with international compliance and localization frameworks • Exposure to high-scale consumer applications
